    Dover Air Force Base Middle School, in Delaware, is seeking an immediate full-time school library media specialist. The position is temporary but the district expects the position to become permanent for the 2010-2011 school year.   5. Adams Memorial Library (PA)

    Adams Memorial Library in Latrobe, PA, is seeking a full-time children’s librarian. The position is 40 hours per week, and requires a non-negotiable minimum of two evenings per week (11:30-7:30) and at least two Saturdays per month (9:00-5:00). Strong preference will be given to candidates who are willing to work more than the minimum required evenings and weekends. Candidates should have an MLS degree from an accredited school, and should have or be able to get clearances for working with children.

    Duties include helping to plan, organize, and purchase materials for our annual Summer Reading Program (1,200-1,500 participants over ten weeks); choosing children’s books and audiovisual materials to be considered for the library collection at four branch locations; cataloging children’s materials; creating calendars and promotional signs for programs; developing and leading ongoing programs such as Book and Craft (candidates should have experience and skills with crafts); planning and marketing special grant-funded children’s programs; and working the circulation desk in the children’s department for assigned hours each day. Other duties based on applicant expertise may include website collaboration for children’s webpage content, doing off-site outreach, and participating in cooperative projects with community agencies as assigned by the library director and children’s director. Salary $25,000 plus benefits (health, dental, vision).
