Faculty of the School Library and Information Technologies Program will award $15,000 to seven SL&IT students. One student will receive a $3,000 award, while six will receive $2,000 scholarships. Students can use the funds for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 tuition, education fees and technology fees. Funds may be used to pay past balances only for students within two semester of graduation. |
Eligibility |
Scholarships are available to any degree-seeking SL&IT student who has not received a Building Leaders, LAPIS, REAP or SCALE scholarship. Students who receive reimbursement for classes are also ineligible, unless they can document a tuition gap that would not lead to a profit on combined funds. Awards will be based on a combination of four criteria:

Applicants will submit a FAFSA (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) and a 1-2 page essay describing their need for assistance and career goals in the field of school librarianship. Essays must use one inch margins, 1.5 line spacing and a standard 12-point font (Times, Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri or Georgia). Essays will earn points for demonstrating the following criteria:

Download and submit an application in either Word or PDF formats (the PDF version allows you to type on the form, which you can then print). Attach to the form an essay and copy of the page from your FAFSA Report showing the EFC number. Essays must include your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
